CBD vs Melatonin For Sleep

If you're having problems getting to sleep, you may have already tried various remedies to help you with this. One common solution that people suggest is taking some melatonin. Melatonin is a natural hormone that your body produces to help regulate your body's circadian rhythm. Your body naturally wants to synchronize your sleep schedule with a normal day and night cycle and as your body is exposed to less light as the night comes, it produces melatonin.

While melatonin doesn't actually cause you to fall asleep, it does tell your body that it's time to wind down and get ready for sleep.

CBD, however, acts on the body differently. Your body doesn't produce CBD, but it has an effect on your body's endocannabinoid system. This system is responsible for helping regulate a variety of your body's systems, from appetite, to sleep, pain, your circadian rhythm, and more. CBD

Studies show that CBD can help with insomnia indirectly through the reduction of anxiety. In one study, the amount that subjects slept and the quality of their sleep improved over the course of 5 months while given a sublingual CBD spray.

If you're having general trouble with sleeping and aren't sure which to take, try melatonin first and see if that helps. If anxiety or pain plays a large part in your sleeplessness, CBD may help you the most. If you're having trouble deciding whether to use melatonin or cbd for sleep, Koality Medicinals can help you out.
